In a press conference on Saturday in Kakamega town, Malala said he is ready to be expelled from the party after he campaigned for ODM Candidate Imran Okoth.
The senator said that he is ready to go back to the people of Kakamega if the party completes the process of expelling him from the party over his actions.
"I have consulted the great people of Kakamega county widely and I am convinced beyond a reasonable doubt in my heart that this suspension is ill- advised and meant to serve sectarian interests within and outside the ANC party. I therefore as the senator for Kakamega county the party leadership of ANC to compel or complete the expulsion process they have started. I am ready to be expelled from ANC and I am ready for a by-election,” he said in part.
ANC leadership has been accusing Malala of disrespecting its leader Mudavadi. Malala has insisted that he did nothing wrong when he campaigned for Imran in Kibra.
He argued that Mudavadi campaigned for Raila yet he was not questioned over the same. He lamented that the decision to expel him is a clear indication that there is no democracy in the party.
