Police in Machakos have impounded 100 kilograms of bhang worth Sh1.5 million in a home in Kasinga. The operation led by Machakos sub-county OCPD Moss Ndiwa in collaboration with Machakos DCIO boss Rhoda Kanyi also recovered Sh80,000 thanks to a public tip off.
"We have recovered the bhang and money which we suspect to be proceeds from the sale of bhang. We have arrested one suspect,” he said as reported by Standard.
The Machakos sub-county OCPD said that the cannabis was ready for use targeting students who are home for the long Christmas holiday.
"We ask members of the public to continue supporting us and we will continue giving adequate service to our people,” Ndiwa said.
Police continue nabbing bang dealers as some leaders push for its legalization. Dome of the leaders who have publicly supported bhang legalization are Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
“The proposed Bill seeks to ensure that there is regulation for growth and safe use of marijuana and hemp including the registration of growers of growers, producers, manufacturers and users with special focus on protection of children/minors from illicit use just as we do with tobacco and alcohol,” read a letter by the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
