The first-time MP dismissed as false reports that there is great discontent in the region with Uhuru's government over its development record.

He said the upcoming visit by the President was eagerly awaited, adding that residents will give Uhuru a heroic welcome since they still consider him the region's political kingpin.

“The President is my personal friend. We have worked together for 21 years. Nothing can intimidate his fanatic supporters and I’m sure he will be received like a king,” said Gachagua, who previously worked as Uhuru's Personal Assistant (PA).

The Head of State is expected to tour the region soon in what analysts have termed as a strategy to consolidate his political base which has been adversely divided by the 2022 succession politics.

The Kieleweke, Tangatanga politics have divided the populous region across the middle with Uhuru taking the blame for failure to offer political guidance.

Political analyst and Igembe North politician James Mithika asked Uhuru to read the riot act to the Tangatanga group that supports Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, for ignoring his warning on early campaigns.

“It is good the President is coming because he needs to remind rent seekers in Tangatanga that he is still the region’s kingpin. He also needs to diffuse their alarmist politics of seclusion and underline Jubilee’s performance in the region,” said Mithika, speaking to the Standard.
