Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli on Thursday joined ODM Kibra parliamentary hopeful Imran Okoth for his campaigns ahead of the November 7, mini poll.
In a tweet, ODM said Atwoli was part of a delegation that chaired a meeting between Okoth's campaign team, and members of the Luhya community in Kibra.
According to the party, members of Luhya community in Kibra vowed to support Imran.
"Bernard Otieno Okoth Imran was today joined in his campaign by the COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli. Together with Hon George Aladwa and Director Youth Affairs Benson Musungu, the leaders met members of the Luhya Community in Kibra who pledged to support Imran on 7/11," ODM posted on Twitter.
Appearing on JKL show on Wednesday, Atwoli threw his weight behind Imran Okoth.
"By 10am Imran will be the MP for Kibra. Take it to the bank," he said.
He said ODM is the most popular party in Kibra, adding that the tendency of candidates using money to entice voters will not help them achieve much in the constituency.
The Kibra parliamentary seat fell vacant after the death of Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer.
Some of the candidates who will take part in the race include; Imran (ODM), McDonald Mariga (Jubilee), Eliud Owalo (ANC); Ford Kenya candidate Khamisi Butichi, among others.
