ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna has expressed gratitude to the legal team that represented the party in a case involving political parties fund for emerging victorious.
In his official Twitter handle, Sifuna acknowledged the role played by the lawyers in fighting competently for what rightfully belonged to the party.
He showered accolades to Siaya Senator James Orengo and an advocate of the High Court Julie Soweto for doing a good job in representing ODM.
The former Nairobi county senatorial hopeful termed the ruling as another blow to the rule of law.
However, Sifuna took issue with the challenges that may come up during the implementation of the court's directive. He opined that the war had not been won because enforcement was the next hurdle that they should deal with as a party.
"We know enforcement of this order is another matter altogether but for now from us @TheODMparty Secretariat Ahsanteni sana," argued Sifuna in the tweet.
The case was an appeal against a High Court ruling that the taxpayer could not finance the party since they had not solicited for the funds initially.
ODM had sought a court injunction after the government paid it Sh100 million only between 2011 and 2016, claiming that it should have been paid the full amount.
