Sharon was reportedly involved in a romantic relationship with Migori Governor Okoth Obado. She was kidnapped on Tuesday and murdered gruesomely and her body later dumped at Kodera forest in Oyugis, Homa Bay County.

Ongwae has since said that Sharon's killers must be brought to book.

"It is shocking that the student was abducted and later killed under unclear circumstances. Detectives should conduct thorough probe and ensure the killers are brought to book," he said.

The ODM Governor urged Kenyans to stop insulting Obado who is in the limelight over Sharon's death because he has not been found guilty.

He said detectives should be given time to investigate if or not, there was a love affair between the Migori Governor and the deceased.

"The DPP and DCI should be given time to investigate the brutal killing. Those calling for the arrest of Migori governor should stop interfering with the work of detectives," stated Ongwae.

He advised ladies in the university to stop chasing older men for money.

Parents, he added, should advise their daughters accordingly so that they don't end up chasing old men to pay for their upkeep at the university.

Ongwae spoke on Friday at Nyakeiri village in Kitutu Chache North sub-county during a funeral ceremony.
