Nyatieko mixed secondary school in Kitutu Chache South Kisii County risks closure following the worse state of its pit latrines.
The school which is on the highway along Kisii-Mbanda Road has over 600 students with good infrastructure but with dilapidated pit latrines.
Mr Oroni Omwoyo who is the school principal said they only received Sh1M last year and the cash from NGCDF and was directly channelled to the construction of the school laboratory which is underway.
On a one on one exclusive interview with Hivi Sasa, The principal added that the school also has both boys and girls boarding with few students who come from far.
"The school does dot have good toilets for our boys. The once over there are too old and students risk using them. We have tried to put up new toilets for them but we have not managed," he said.
"We received 1M last year from Ministry of Education and it was given out to construct the school laboratory. We are almost completing. We have never received support to put up the toilets. They are in a worse state especially the boys' latrines," he said.
The school is now appealing to the area member of parliament Richard Momaima Onyonka to intervene and rescue the situation.
