Kalonzo Musyoka’s appearance in court on Wednesday when he presented submissions in a case involving  Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu continues to draw reactions.

Majority of Kenyans did not expect the Wiper leader to speak in court in the case where Mwilu is facing corruption charges, tax evasion and abuse of office.

Most Kenyans also did not know that the former Vice President is a trained lawyer and advocate of the High court.

Kalonzo after his studies did not practice law but opted to join active politics.

The former Vice President studied Bachelors of Law Degree at the University of Nairobi (UoN).

He graduated in 1977.

In 1979, the Wiper Party leader enrolled for postgraduate Diploma certificate in Law at the Kenya School of Law.

He was admitted as the advocate of the High court in 1980.

After his law studies, Kalonzo contested for the Kitui North parliamentary seat in the 1983 general election but lost.

He won the seat in the 1985's general election starting his long political career and abandoning the legal profession.
