For the past few weeks, Kisii ladies have taken to Facebook to talk about this unique fruit called Avocado many openly showing their intimacy with the fruit.

Purity Mochiemo is one of those ladies from Kisii who will never taste a meal before one clearly tells her where the Avocado is.

"I personally take Avocado anywhere I come across it. Lunch supper etc. I will never eat unless I see the Avocado on the table. I have come to love it and that is my all time supplement," She said.

Dr Enoch Ondari from Kisii teaching and referral hospital says the fruit should be regularly eaten for it has a number of health benefits to the human body. 

"Yes Avocado should be eaten regularly as it has numerous benefits," he said.

Maintaining a healthy skin, 

Strengthens the hair, that is why it is recommended for people to use it as hair oil,

Its good source of potassium, 

Helps in digestion among many other benefits.

Dr. Ondari adds that avocado contains potassium which most people don't get enough and it has heart-healthy Monounsaturated fatty acids which are very important to our bodies.
