A section of MPs led by Kiambu Women Rep Gathoni Wa Muchomba claimed that MPs were given bribes to shoot down sugar report in August.

Having grilled those adversely mentioned including Wajir Women Rep Fatuma Gedi, Muturi said the trip to toilets will help resolve 'some questions'.

“I have been advised by members of the secretariat that it would be necessary for us to pay a visit to the ladies washroom to get an impression of how it looks like.

"Personally, I have never been there, and because I saw that most members were not understanding what Muchomba was saying," he said.

Besides Wa Muchomba, other MPs who have corroborated the claims include Didmas Barasa and Ayub Suvula.

The three maintained that legislators were paid at least Sh10,000 to shoot down the report, a move that portrayed parliament negatively.

Ms. Wa Muchomba, when appearing before the committee, insisted that Ms. Gedi was dishing out bribes at the toilets to gullible legislators.
