The body of 33-year-old Eliakim Aidi Agola was discovered by Joseph Oyoko, a villager, who says that he was attracted by a foul smell before stumbling on the body.

The body was also found with a rope tied around its neck, which area Assistant Chief George Odhiambo suspects the man had used to commit suicide.

The administrator said that the deceased was having issues with members of his family before he was found dead, and had at some point assaulted his stepmother and left her with axe cuts.

"It is on record that he at one time cut his stepmother with an axe while drunk," said the administrator, who added that he might have committed suicide on a nearby tree.

"We are highly suspecting that the man might have committed suicide since a piece of an old rope was found hanging on the tree while another one tied to his neck," he added.

The body of the deceased is being kept at the Madiany Sub County Hospital morgue.
