Embakasi East Member of Parliament has had his request to be treated at a private health facility over chest pains denied.
The court ordered that the embattled Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker be treated at the Industrial Area remand facility.
Babu Owino is being held at the Nairobi facility over allegations he shot a DJ identified as Felix Orinda with lethal intent.
His condition was brought to the attention of Milimani Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot during an incitement to violence case that the MP is implicated but failed to attend.
The case is related to words he made in Kawangware that were deemed to be not only inciteful but demeaning to the presidency.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that the firebrand former University of Nairobi student leader would be charged with attempted murder.
According to the prosecution, the MP Paul Ongili was not produced by the remand facility because he is not feeling well.
Through his team of lawyers led by Cliff Ombeta, the MP has denied the attempted murder charges levelled against him, saying that he fired the weapon because he was apprehensive about his life.
The court said that the facility in which Babu is being held has sufficient resources to treat his chest pains.
