The University of Exeter in the United Kingdom has honoured marathoner Eliud Kipchoge with a Doctorate Degree of Law.
According to the university's website, Kipchoge was awarded because of his distinguished career in the marathon.
The athlete named as the Greatest Marathoner of All Time has won 11 out of 12 marathons he has participated.
Eliud Kipchoge started his international debut as a teenager and won an under-20 race at the 2003 World Cross Country Championships. In the same year, he defeated Marathon gurus Hicham El Guerrouj and Kenenisa Bekele to claim 5000m gold medal at the World Athletics Championships.
In his most recent race famously known as INEOS 1:59 held in Vienna, Kipchoge became the first human to run a 42 kilometres race under 2 hours.
The doctorate award by the University of Exeter comes just days after Laikipia University honoured him with Doctorate Degree in Science during its seventh convocation ceremony.
Honorary degrees are usually given to a person who has offered an outstanding service at a particular field and has impacted the community positively.
The 35-year old was also awarded Elder of Golden Heart (EGH) by President Kenyatta.
