Kisumu Governor Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o expressed both surprise and appreciation in equal measure after Alliance High School old boys donated Sh900, 000 to the Kisumu County Government.
The cheque was handed over to Governor Nyong’o on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the Kisumu’s Ciala resort during an event dubbed ‘His Excellency Anyang’ Nyong’o and Alliance High School Old Boys Kisumu Gateway Weekend’.
The two-day event kicked off on Friday and came to the end on Saturday. Governor Nyong’o indicated that the money will be used to acquire a machine at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
“I want to express my sincere appreciation to the Alliance High School Old Boys for presenting to the county government of Kisumu a cheque of Ksh. 900, 000 by Eng. Jared Otieno Ag. Managing Director, Kenya Power and Lightning Company that will go towards acquiring a Cardio - tocograph machine for Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH),” said the County boss.
The County Chief is an old boy of Alliance High School.
He was flanked by various Kisumu County Government officers among them County Executive Committee Member (CEC) for Health Rosemary Obara, her tourism and Sports Counterpart Achie Alai and Dickson Obungu who is in charge of the Lands docket.
