In a response directed to a group of MPs opposed to Dr Ruto on Saturday, the North Mugirango MP defended the DP, arguing that he has been instrumental in appointment of various leaders to the region by government.

Nyamoko dismissed claims that Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i was recruited to cabinet by President Uhuru Kenyatta alone, adding that the appointment had Ruto's blessings.

“Matiang’i was appointed after Uhuru and DP agreed over it. No decision was made by the President that never had his deputy’s blessings,” said the North Mugirango MP at a function in Ekerenyo, Saturday.

Earlier this week at Tindereti in Borabu, Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama accused Ruto of neglecting the Abagusii community in government appointments.

“We cannot continue supporting a leader from whom we have not seen any benefit. We supported President Kenyatta together with Ruto but the post of Cabinet Secretary we have was Uhuru’s reward to us. What did the DP give us in his share of Cabinet slots?” Arama posed.

Dr Matiang'i has been instrumental in executing government assignments with a section of leaders now pushing to have him succeed Uhuru.
