Before rising to fame former Egesa FM presenter Joseph Mochere was a 'stubborn drunkard', his boss has declared.
Mr. Mochere popularly known as Okebiro O'Mose committed suicide a fortnight ago and was laid to rest on Friday.
In a passionate speech aimed at Royal Media Services critics, Nancy Kwamboka, the radio boss, narrated how she gave the deceased presenter another chance in life.
"I never knew Papa Oke (Mochere). I come miles away from Kitutu Masaba. I knew him through James Gichana.
"We were debating about illicit brew and I was on air with Doris Aburi (Donya). We invited him to speak to audience. He was a stubborn drunkard but he took the job seriously and excelled," she revealed.
Before joining Egesa FM, Mr. Mochere was a night guard in the suburbs of Nairobi.
And in a vicious attack on critics who questioned the deceased peanut salary at Egesa FM, Ms. Kwamboka insisted that she did her part.
"I don't think someone came report to work if he is not being paid. I did my part, I gotta a family and I don't think I'd have done that to him."
Mr. Mochere is said to have hang himself due to family wrangles between him and the wife.
