The two leaders are in Kisumu on for the installation ceremony of Rev. Philip Anyolo as the new Catholic archbishop.

Rev. Anyolo takes over the church’s leadership from Bishop Zacchaeus Okoth who has served for five decades.

Ruto and Raila made a triumphant entry at the Uzima College where the ceremony is being held.

The two are meeting at a time when there is increased political talk on whether Raila is scheming to shortage Ruto by sabotaging Jubilee’s succession plan.

Raila made truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9 through a handshake that has been hailed as having cooled political temperatures in the country.

The handshake caused ripples within Jubilee and jitters in Ruto’s camp.

The last time the two met was in Kisumu where Ruto welcomed the handshake and said he is in the ‘middle’ of Uhuru and Raila.

The remarks, however, were quickly dismissed by Raila’s legal adviser James Orengo.

Orengo told Ruto not to expect any backing for 2022 as only ‘God knows’.
