Nyamira county youths have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack his Deputy William Ruto to end corruption in this country.
Led by a youth leader from Magwagwa, Kefah Moenga, the youths stated that DP Ruto is the biggest problem when it comes to the fight against corruption.
Speaking in Nyamira Town on Friday, they said the fight against corruption by the President will be counterproductive if his deputy who has been mentioned as being corrupt remains in office.
"DP Ruto is the father of corruption in the country. If president Uhuru is serious in the fight against corruption, he should sack his deputy, order his arrest and prosecution so that those people he is colluding with to steal and grab lands can be scared to change their bad ways," he said.
Moenga added that DP Ruto has been falsely pretending to be fighting corruption.
"DP Ruto has been threatening civil servants that whoever who will be caught engaging in corruption will be arrested and arraigned in court yet he is also corrupt. Let him first resign since a recent report released ranked him most corrupt," he noted.
Caleb Motari, another youth leader said corruption will not end if high profile figures who have engaged in corruption are not sacked from government.
"People of high profile who have been linked to be corrupt must be sacked for poor citizen in the villages to know corruption is really illegal and punishable by law. Uhuru should start by sacking his deputy who is perceived to be the most corrupt person in this country," he stated.
For some time now, Ruto has been fighting allegations of graft. Last week, he dismissed an Ipsos poll that ranked him as the most corrupt leader saying it a result of the work of his enemies.
