Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has said that the handshake is the best thing that has ever happened to the nation.
In an interview on Citizen TV's JKL show on Wednesday, Millie said that she fully supports the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
The lawmaker said that there are many things that have changed since the handshake between the two leaders.
She also urged other leaders opposed to the handshake to rethink about it for the sake for development.
The vocal MP also said that the decision of President Kenyatta to endorse Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga for the Kibra Parliamentary seat in the forthcoming by-election doesn't in any way affect the handshake.
She also asked Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and others in ODM not to get agitated after Uhuru made the declaration on Wednesday.
She reminded the leaders that the handshake was not meant to kill Jubilee or ODM but to unite Raila and Uhuru for purposes of peace as well as the realisation of development across the country.
“The handshake does not mean that ODM dies or Jubilee dies; we still have ODM, we still have Jubilee, it’s just that the rules of the game changed,” the MP said in a tweet by Citizen TV.
