Government spokesman Cyrus Oguna believes the allegations of Deputy President William Ruto being locked out of his official residence in Mombasa is not important.
Oguna who was speaking to Nation avoided to address the matter directly and instead termed it as a non-issue.
According to Oguna, there are far more important subjects to be discussed instead of the claims surrounding the Deputy President's official coastal residence.
He went ahead to give an example of the locust invasion in the country citing that it would be better to be asked about issues which were affecting the people of Kenya and not the problems surrounding Ruto's residence.
“There are more critical issues to be addressed and that to me is a non-issue. Whether the DP is moving in today or tomorrow in my view is not an area of discussion. I would have hoped you asked me about the rains which have subsided or the locusts’ issue. There are very critical things you can focus on,” Oguna told Nation.
Reports had emerged that the DP was kicked out of his residence on Wednesday.
According to Nation, Ruto had gone to his official residence in Mombasa to spend the night after a busy day in the region only to find things being moved out of the residence and was forced to spend the night at English Point Marina in Nyali.
The allegations have sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans and a section of the leaders.
