Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo has questioned Deputy President William Ruto's conduct lately.
Speaking on Tuesday, the lawmaker observed that the DP has been lacking a steady stand, and seems to be swaying from one side to the other depending on the situation he finds himself in.
He added that Ruto, who has been questioning a number of projects and initiatives supported by President Uhuru Kenyatta, is no longer looking like the Deputy President, thanks to his actions.
"The DP has mastered the art of doublespeak, it doesn’t auger well because it looks as though he isn’t deputising the President," he said on NTV's AM Live show on Tuesday morning.
He observed that Ruto has been blowing hot and cold and giving varying positions on numerous issues, including the constitutional amendment debate, which he has been appearing to oppose.
He also bashed him for not being able to stand with what he believes in, observing that he has been changing his tune whenever the president is around, making it hard to know his position.
"He blows hot and cold on various things including the amendments to the constitution, but when the President is there, he seems to double down," he added.
Ruto has also been appearing to engage in early campaigns through his allies, but recently rubbished such claims when he attended the burial of John De Mathew alongside Uhuru.
