The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in Nakuru has summoned Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri over his remarks that Deputy President William Ruto was kicked out of his official residence in Mombasa.
Speaking to standard media, Ngunjiri said he was ordered to present himself at the Nakuru DCI offices to record a statement and to surrender his official firearm.
The MP said he was summoned following his remarks last week about DP Ruto being embarrassed while President Uhuru Kenyatta is watching.
“It is true I was summoned and I have just finished recording a statement. It is about my address to press concerning how government officials are treating DP Ruto. I was responding to what was reported in the media and I wonder why I am being victimised. I have also been told to surrender my firearms which I will,” said Ngunjiri.
Nakuru DCIO Benson Mutie confirmed that MP Ngunjiri was summoned to appear at the office of the DCI over some of his remarks.
Last week on Thursday, the MP said he is not afraid of supporting Ruto's 2022 presidential bid adding that he is ready to be arrested saying some leaders are defying Uhuru's calls for politicians to shun politicking and no action is being taken against them.
