Billionaire Simon Nyachae is not interested to pursue the case in which his maid is said to have disappeared with Sh5 million from his bedroom, it has now emerged.
Instead, Nyachae will be contented with recovery of some of the money that Ms Lilian Maina is believed to have illegally obtained from a safe in his bedroom.
"Mzee is very calm and wants to live quiet life. He doesn't want litigations in court and he's only wants police to recover some of the lost money.
"He says that should he recover even little, he will forgive the maid whom he trusted a lot," one of his grandson said in confidence because he's not authorized to speak for the family.
His wife Grace Wamuyu forgot to close the safe days before travelling to London where Nyachae was admitted, only to return and fail to trace the money right days later in October.
For the last six months, Nyachae has indisposed at a London hospital after complaining of chest pains.
"He complained of chest pains and we had to take him to London for advanced check-up," his son Charles Nyachae had said.
When news about lost money broke, a section of social media users celebrated his misfortunes, some accusing him of plundering public resources during his time in government.
