Before the elections, there was disagreement between the Jubilee and NASA side on the announcement of the results.

Speaking during a rally in Makueni, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior launched a scathing attack at Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and Former IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba saying that leaders of the opposition were not ready to take part in an election that will not reflect the will of the people of Kenya.

The Senator warned against the announcement of results at the National Tallying Center. He claimed that there was a foul play ahead of the exercise after the changes in the announcement of results during that time.

“I want to speak to someone called Chiloba and Matiang’i. Mr Ezra Chiloba, there is something in law referred to as contempt of court. Those things you are speaking forget. The constitution is very clear the results will be announced at the constituency level. The declaration will be done somewhere else. The announcement of presidential election results will be done in 290 constituencies,” he said in part amid cheers.

After the August general elections, ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga refused to take part in the rerun following the nullification of Uhuru’s win.

He put six irreducible minimums he wanted to be met before he could take part in the exercise.
