Chege said the opinion poll by Ipsos Synovate which was released on Wednesday, last week, was in bad taste.

Speaking to journalists in Murang'a Town on Saturday, Chege argued that DP Ruto cannot be corrupt, noting that he is among the few honest and trustworthy leaders in the country.

She further argued that the opinion poll was sponsored by DP Ruto's detractors with the intention of tainting his name ahead of the 2022 general election.

"They know he (DP Ruto)  is going to be the next President in 2022 and want to taint his image and character through baseless opinion polls," she said.

Chege asked DP Ruto to ignore the opinion poll and continue to market his 2022 presidential bid.

She at the same time warned Ipsos against engineering baseless opinion polls.

The opinion poll by Ipsos ranked DP Ruto as the most corrupt leader at 33 per cent followed by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru at 31 per cent.

The DP has since rubbished the opinion poll terming it the work of his political enemies.

Similarly, Waiguru has also threatened to sue the research company accusing it of working to assassinate her character.
