Deputy President William Ruto's camp has been dealt a major blow after tycoon Mr Zedekiah Bundotich abandoned them.
Buzeki, who unsuccessfully contested for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in 2017, has announced that he is contemplating his next move before 2022.
While making the announcement on Thursday, Buzeki said that he doesn’t want to be associated with DP Ruto’s Tanga Tanga.
The politician worked so closely with the second in command as he sought to become a governor before he decided to remain silence after the loss.
The announcement came after he held a private meeting at an undisclosed Nairobi hotel with a section of leaders on Wednesday.
He noted that time has come for him to rethink his political path before the electioneering period.
“The time has come for me to consider other alternatives. I’m in neither the Kieleweke group nor the Tanga Tanga team,” Mr Bundotich said, as quoted by Daily Nation.
The meeting was attended by Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, MPs Silas Tiren (Moiben), Joshua Kandie (Baringo Central), Mr Zachariah Cheruiyot, and Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany).
Ruto is considered one of the front runners in the race amid changing political temperatures.
The union between ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta is among Ruto's greatest threat since it had caused jitters in Jubilee.
