Speaking at Jesus Is Alive Ministries (JIAM) on Sunday, Mudavadi said that Ruto wants to rise to power before Uhuru leaves office. He argued that the actions of the second in command are unacceptable.

"Where I come from, it is a curse to inherit your father when he is still alive," said Mudavadi, as quoted by the Standard.

The former vice president also reminded Kenyans not to follow Ruto’s hustler mentality. He noted that Kenyans have to work for what they want and not hustle as the second in command has been saying.

Mudavadi, who is considered as one of the potential successors of President Uhuru, further said that the mentality has fueled corruption in the country as many people resort to getting rich quick schemes.

“We need to build our nation on a firm foundation of hard work and honesty so as to create an enabling environment for all to lead a dignified life and reject the hustler mentality,” he tweeted.

Mudavadi has been urging Kenyans to reject corrupt leaders for the sake of development. He believes he has what it takes to transform the lives of Kenyans if elected president in 2022.
