More estates are coming up in Nakuru as the town continues to grow.
However, some of the mushrooming estates have scary names which might intimidate visitors.
Here are some of them:
1. Pangani
Pangani is among the most preferred estates for middle income earners in Nakuru town.
It's relatively safe and well supplied with all preferred necessities like water and power, with close to zero percent tarmac.
The name can be scary. It translates to 'machete', the dangerous cutting and slashing tool.
2. Kichinjio
The small estate surrounding the Nakuru County's slaughterhouse lies within 58 estates in real sense.
However, it has since adopted the name 'Kichinjio' which translates to a slaughterhouse that it is next to.
Some youthful locals have shortened the name to 'Kichinjii'.
3. Fire
It's just a few metres West of Kichinjio, a Nakuru county government's owned estate initially fully occupied by officers from the fire department.
The name can be really scary and ring alarms of an inferno in one's mind, but here it's a simple estate.
The tiny estate which doubles up as a fire station is also one of the worst liquor dens around Nakuru town.
Ironically, it's right next to an Administration Police (AP) camp.
