National Majority leader has finally revealed that there will be no referendum in the near future, putting to end the long debate over possible calls for the exercise before the 2022 general elections.
Issuing an update over the much debated issue on Thursday, Duale posted in his social media account that Building the Bridges committee are not involved in any referendum deals contrary to statements of the NASA principal Raila Odinga.
"We are focused on development as Jubilee and we do not have time for a referendum. The opportunity we have now is to serve Kenyans through implementing development projects. The terms of the fourteen member committee of building bridges do not include a referendum," posted Duale.
The referendum question had consumed national discourse after the handshake between Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta.
During a governors' conference early this year, veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga mooted the referendum idea.
