Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta summoned Jubilee MPs for a Parliamentary Group meeting on Tuesday to bribe them so that they can support his new 8 percent fuel tax.
Onyonka, said Uhuru realised MPs will oppose him so he summoned them to dish out bribes.
"Kenyans need to know the truth about how President Uhuru Kenyatta is running his government. He is using the numbers of MPs allied to Jubilee party to tax poor Kenyans heavily. The Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting on Tuesday is meant to bribe the MPs to side with him," he said.
The Ford Kenya Party MP said the President should not expect a walk in the park when his proposal will be tabled before the National Assembly Members.
"Uhuru is facing difficult times because several of 'his' MPs will oppose his 8 percent proposal on petroleum products. Slashing of CDF funds and Affirmative Action Funds," he added.
The lawmaker was speaking on Monday night during an interview on Citizen Television.
