According to police commissioner in the county Yatich Kemei, intelligence has shown that the politicians are out to cause mayhem in the county ahead of the 2022 polls.

Speaking on Sunday, he warned against any attempts, warning that any will be met with the full force if the law regardless if the positions they are holding.

“The intelligence system has informed us that youths are being paid by a politician to unleash terror and we will get hold of you regardless of how powerful you are,” he said.

He made the remarks during the 97th International Cooperative Day Celebrations at Kamkunji Stadium, where he added that transport operators are the targets.

He said that the politicians are luring transport operators into their net as they seek to revive the once troublesome group, which the police boss said will not be allowed at all.

“The government will not allow re-grouping of Mungiki in the county,” he added, further warning against unending politicking, especially now that the elections are years away.

He stressed on the need for politicians to now spend their efforts in bettering the lives of the electorate, reminding them that Kenyans cannot eat politics.
