Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama insists that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is the best bet to win the 2022 presidential election.
Muthama argues that Kalonzo is not tainted and is the best candidate to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Tala, Matungulu, Machakos County during the burial of Mzee Joseph Mukanza on Friday, Muthama asked the Kamba community and Kenyans to support Kalonzo, noting that he will reform the country if elected president in 2022.
The former senator said that the country needs a strategic, focused and visionary president who will advance the country's development agenda.
“Kalonzo is the best bet for 2022 and I call on the Kamba community and Kenyans at large to rally behind him for a prosperous and united country come 2022,” he said.
Muthama is among top politicians from Ukamabani rallying for Kalonzo's presidency in 2022.
He has often castigated some Ukambani politicians who he accuses of frustrating Kalonzo's 2022 bid.
He has also openly laughed off Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua’s presidential bid terming it a joke.
According to Muthama, Governor Mutua does not have the numbers to ascend to the presidency and that he is allegedly out to sabotage Kalonzo's bid.
Kalonzo is among top politicians who are eyeing to succeed President Kenyatta in the forthcoming general election.
