The governor had travelled to the country as an observer before the postponement.

She took to her social media and expressed her shock following the decision of the electoral body.

“Ready at 6 am for our observer mission but alas! The Election was postponed at 2 am! 5 hours to the opening of the polling stations. Really sad for Nigeria and democracy in Africa,” she tweeted.

The commission’s chairman Mahmood Yakubu cited logistics during the postponement of the process. The first-term governor was the only leader who has been chosen to oversee the exercise.

Her vast experience in the political arena made her land the position.  The governor met different leaders from different parts of the world during the tour to Nigeria.

Ngilu is considered one of the most influential politicians in Ukambani and the entire nation. She once contested for the nation’s top seat after winning hearts of many voters.

She managed to set the Former Kitui Governor Julius Malombe home despite being in a Wiper Stronghold where Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo has much influence than any other politicians. It remains unclear when she will return home.
