Former Wajir MP Mohamed Kolosh has defended his decision to quit the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Kolosh quit the Raila Odinga-led Orange party after his election as Wajir West MP was nullified by the Supreme Court.
The former MP now says that no one forced him to quit the Orange party.
Kolosh says his decision to join the Jubilee party was based on the party’s popularity and the vision it has for Kenyans.
Speaking to journalists in Wajir Town Friday, the former lawmaker said that Jubilee Party is more popular and its ideologies aligns with his vision he has for Wajir West people.
"No one forced me out of ODM as some people are speculating on social media, I made the decision to quit because I no longer felt comfortable in terms of the party’s ideologies,” he said.
Kolosh denied claims that he quit ODM for fear of losing in the upcoming by-election.
The former MP’s election was nullified on grounds that it was not free and fair.
The IEBC has since set April 25 for the by-election.
The petition that saw the MP’s election nullified was filed by KANU politician Abdirahman Mohamud.
Kolosh will now battle out with Mohamud and others.
ODM has since picked Professor Yusuf Elmi to fly its flag in the by-election.
