Reports that Deputy President William Ruto could be seeking Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s partnership in 2022 continues to elicit reactions majorly in Ukambani region.
According to political analyst Peter Ngure, chances of Ruto teaming up with Kalonzo are 90 percent.
Ngure observes that Ruto's strategy to woe Kalonzo ahead of 2022 polls is on top gear.
He said the two leaders share common things and their line up which-ever way could excite voters.
“DP Ruto and Kalonzo's partnership could easily see them to State House in 2022,” he said in an interview on Thursday.
Ngure said with Ruto being not sure on whether Mt Kenya will back his 2022 presidential bid, he is likely to settle on Kalonzo and Ukambani region as his plan B.
“The deputy president is a clever man and he could be setting up Kalonzo as his plan B in case Mt Kenya abandons him,” Ngure said.
Kalonzo has been quoted saying he is seeking partnership ahead of 2022.
The former Vice President says his party will rebrand before the 2022 polls.
There has been speculations that Kalonzo could be eyeing to partner with Baringo senator Gideon Moi.
Last week, the former vice president said his meeting with retired President Daniel Arap Moi will take place soon.
