Vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna has lashed out at opposition leader Raila Odinga for whipping ODM MPs to back the Finance Bill, 2018, which was enacted last week.
Miguna scorned off Raila's remarks that he supported President Uhuru Kenyatta's proposal to levy 8 per cent VAT on fuel on condition Jubilee government cuts down on unnecessary spending.
On Saturday, Raila thanked legislators who backed the new tax measures but warned if Uhuru's administration does not stop extravagant spending he will lead his troops to suspend the new law.
But in a long Facebook post, Miguna said the former Prime Minister was just playing 'silly games' with Kenyans and warned him that he will go down with Uhuru for introducing 'oppressive measures against Kenyans'.
"Mr. Raila Odinga: Kenyans are not zombies. You supported and lobbied for the the passage of 8% VAT on fuel. You have joined Jubilee Party in their looting sprees and become
Uhuru Kenyatta 's messenger of doom. You support high commodity prices and oppressive measures against Kenyans. We'll revisit," he wrote on Saturday.
The former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate added: "Kenyans will not allow you to play your silly games after one year! You are part and parcel of Kenya's problems. We must defeat Uhuru Kenyatta and all his collaborators and lap dogs like you."
The last few days have been difficult for Raila as he has received a lot bashing even from his diehard supporters who have been accusing him of betrayal over new taxes.
