Samuel Muli Mutuku was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and charged with threatening Edwin Gichangi.

The court heard that Mutuku on July 31, 2019, pushed Gichangi against a wall and told him "I don't fear you". The prosecution also noted that the suspect also threatened to kill the complainant.

Mutuku reportedly insulted the complainant and issued threats saying "useless man, I don’t fear you. Utakipata, I'll kill you (Nitakuua)," said the prosecution.

He was charged with causing public disturbance in a manner likely to cause breach of peace, in contravention to the Kenyan laws, a crime that was allegedly committed at the Kenya Cultural Center, along Harry Thuku Road in Nairobi.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and was set free on a Sh5,000 cash bail, with the case set to be mentioned on September 18.

This comes only a few weeks after another man landed in court after allegedly shouting "the struggle continues (bado mapambano)" at another man.

Kepha Ojuka was in July arraigned before Senior Resident Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot for directing the remarks at  Ahmed Haji Ibrahim at Lower Hill in Nairobi.

He was released on a Sh5, 000 personal bond and is expected back in court on August 13.
