It's mostly  dealing with tantrums, teething or teenagers on a daily basis.

It is for reason that every mum needs friends to help them navigate through the parenting journey and keep them sane.

Since friendships aren't a one-size-fits-all kind of proposition, every mum needs to have different types of friendships.

Here are 3 friends every mum should have;

1. The 'been there done that' friend

This is basically a friend who has had kid(s) before.

This is your go-to-person when you're experiencing ups and downs or need advice when it comes to motherhood, simply because she has prior experience.

They've lived through the motherhood phase and survived and so they can really come in handy for first time mums.

Therefore, if you need advice on how to wean your baby, breastfeeding, school admissions or your teenage child is acting up and you can't figure out why, this is your ideal go-to person.

2. The fun and adventurous friend

As a mum, it's easy to get caught up with motherhood that you hardly find time to unwind and let loose.

But sometimes, mums just want to have fun, and this is when the fun and adventurous  friend comes in handy.

She's the kind of pal who knows all the nice restaurants around town, where the best concerts are happening, the best travel destinations with good packages and everything fun-related.

She'll inspire you to sometimes let loose and just live, which is something most mums need.

Research also suggest hanging out with friends is good for your kids, so go ahead and plan that girls night out.

3. The listening friend

Having a friend who listens to you is crucial for your mental health.

Motherhood is quite handful and stressful at times, and therefore all a mum needs is a listening ear. Someone who will listen to her vent and let it out without being judged or misunderstood.

Having a friend you can talk to about something that's bothering you is invaluable.
