A section of Kisumu journalists have showed their kindness to a street woman who gave birth to a baby girl two weeks ago.

Sky FM senior reporter  Dave Opiyo , Steve Biko (Radio Lake Victoria) and Nelly Omindo from Radio Nam Lolwe  on Friday mobilized personal resources including food stuff ,clothes and money which they handed over to the street mother as a sign of brotherhood.

The lady who is popularly known as Mama Booker upon receiving the goodies told the journalists that she gave birth in a certain facility in Luanda, Vihiga County. The mother of three said her husband died some years back and according to Luhya customs, her brother-in-law was handed the mandate to take care of her.

Mama Booker revealed that her efforts to use family planning has always failed, adding that her husband would be harsh upon realizing that she cannot conceive. She said her man always demand for sex which resulted to the birth of her third child.

The journalists have appealed to health departments to find ways of helping the woman, calling upon well-wishers to help the lady who spent her night in the cold along the streets of Kisumu.

“We should embrace helping such less fortunate people in the society,” said the Kisumu scribes.

They also appealed to children’s office in Kisumu County to help the street woman in taking care of her kid.
