Controversial politician Miguna Miguna has termed Michael Joseph’s reference to the late Bob Collymore as a ‘white man in a black body’ racist.
According to Miguna, it is racist to attribute success to colour or race.
“...when a Caucasian like Michael Joseph refers to Bob Collymore as "white man in black skin" because he was supposedly a "successful CEO" is the worst kind of anti-Black/African racism. Attributing success to colour/race is racist,” reads part of his tweet.
Miguna also argued that it is considered racist for a person to be called black, and therefore the same should apply when an African is called white.
“Historically "white" people have considered it an insult to be called "black" because Europeans have considered the "black" race as inferior. Michael Joseph's racist reference to @bobcollymore as a "black man in a white body" is the psychosis in Fanon's BLACK SKIN, WHITE MASKS,” he noted in another tweet.
The interim Safaricom CEO made the remarks at All Saints Cathedral during the requiem mass of the late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.
Several social media users have shared similar sentiments over the remarks.
