Two most accomplished legislators on Tuesday reconciled at Parliament Buildings after days of threats and counter accusations over Kibra poll violence.
Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and his Kimilili counterpart Didmus Barasa were seen having a 'handshake' within Parliament, cordially exchanging greetings.
"Politics is you (Siasa ni wewe)," ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale posted photos of the two, suggesting that politics has no permanent enemies.
Barasa had accused Arati of mobilising goons to descend on him in Kibra, adding that he was also keen to recruit his private security.
“It’s on this basis that I invite applications for recruitment of 500 persons to join my team,” a tweet by the MP read.
However, Arati denied inciting youths against the Jubilee MP, adding that he is the one who saved him from the angry youths who linked him to voter bribery.
“Sadly, I am being blamed yet I saved my brother from the wrath of the youths who had been told that Jubilee legislators were on the ground to buy voters,” said Arati.
“It is wrong for people and even you the media to report that I unleashed youths on Barasa. It is me who saved him," he added.
Their reunion came just a few days after President Uhuru Kenyatta approved Kibra by-election, arguing that the exercise was peaceful.
Bernard Okoth of ODM won the polls. He was sworn-in on Tuesday.
