Former Makadara MP Bernard Mutura has blamed the 2018 truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for woes bedevilling the ruling Jubilee Party.
Speaking on Saturday, the Jubilee allied leader observed that the truce has resulted in confusion within Jubilee, reducing it to a staggering political front over the past few months.
He accused Raila of exporting confusion into Jubilee through his closeness with Uhuru thereby reducing Uhuru's initial love for his party and making him less interested in party affairs.
Consequently, he said, Uhuru had not been committed to convening party meetings, hence the varying stands between leaders allied to the party and the growing rivalry between factions.
"ODM politics have penetrated into Jubilee. We cannot understand what is happening in Jubilee. There are no meetings, our affairs are being discussed in funeral services (Ni hizi siasa za ODM zimeingia Jubilee. Sasa Jubilee haieleweki, mambo inazungumziwa kwa matanga maana watu hawakutani)," he said on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.
He also noted that as a result, the government has been unable to deliver due to the instability resulting from the infighting and lack of deliberations within the ruling party.
However, the two leaders have vowed to stick together despite all the opposition.
