At least five people have been arrested and charged with murder with Governor Okoth Obado leading the team of suspects.

“Between three to five people who knew about Sharon’s murder were to be killed. Luckily, we uncovered the conspiracy," said Kinoti.

Besides Obado, his PA Michael Oyamo, Caspal Obiero, former MCA Lawrence Mula and bodyguard Elvis Omondi have also been charged for murdering of the student.

Also in the fiasco is taxi driver Jackson Gombe, who reportedly gave the police a clue on what transpired the fateful day.

But three more suspects, believed to have executed the actual murder, and who are said to have been in the danger of elimination by their instructors, are yet to be arrested.

However, Kinoti insists that it will be easier to prosecute the case since it involved many people.

“There is no mystery in a murder involving many people. A murder case that is complex to crack is often the one that involves only one individual.”

The DCI insists that the plot was to be executed soonest to seal evidence.

Mr. Obado, who admitted having had a relationship with Sharon, was also the father of the unborn baby who was buried last week.

The Migori county boss, who will appear in court from remand in October 8th, has denied financing his girlfriend's death.
