Renowned lawyer Nelson Havi now says that some of the institutions tasked with the role of combating crime lack seriousness in their job.
In a tweet Tuesday, Havi took issue with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Public Prosecutions (DCI) for what he said was complicating their own job.
He said that Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and his Criminal Investigations (DCI) counterpart George Kinoti have become too much interested in drama, which is, in turn, ailing their service delivery.
Havi who represented the opposition in its petition against President Uhuru Kenyatta's 2017 reelection also accused the two of engaging in constitutional crimes, which they should be fighting.
He argued that they are being used as a weapon against persons deemed political and business enemies of the officials in the executive.
He said that the two are facing imminent apocalypse for incorporating media drama into their job.
"DCI George Kinoti and DPP Noordin Haji are equipped and financed to fight crime. They have, however, complicated their work by engaging in illegal activities, media drama and settling business, political and professional scores on behalf of Executive. They face imminent apocalypse," he said.
The two and their Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) counterpart Twalib Mbarak have been on the receiving end for dramatising the arrest of corruption suspects.
Governors have since requested for honourable arrests after the three entities made it a habit to storm their homes early in the morning, mostly on Fridays, and hold them over the weekends to be arraigned in court on Monday.
