Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed existence of secret MOU with President Uhuru Kenyatta before 2013 elections.
Throughout their cooperation since then, Uhuru has publicly insisted that he will back Ruto for two terms after 2032 even though he now seems to have changed tune.
In an interview with NTV, Ruto said he only supported Uhuru based on his believe that he will deliver to the people of Kenya.
“There was no MOU between Uhuru and me. That is a creation of media. I never asked him to reciprocate support in 2022.
“He does not owe me any debt. I only believed in him that he will deliver and that is all. Those claiming that we had an agreement are misleading Kenyans,” he said.
His response comes after it emerged that a musician from Central Kenya had released a song disowning claiming that the region owes Ruto debt in 2022.
Instead, Ruto said he will only present himself to Kenyans based on track record while serving as MP, minister and DP.
