The country is currently dealing with major cases of corruption scandals as well as the importation of contaminated sugar that is feared to be in circulation.

The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) and the parliamentary select committees investigating the sugar scandal have all failed to clearly identify the individuals behind the scandals.

In a tweet on Sunday, Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi called on the Jubilee government to forget about its Big 4 Agenda and concentrate on fostering law and order in the country.

He believes this will compel all Kenyans, irrespective of their social class, to have a profound respect for law and order.  In the process, corruption and other illegal activities will be curtailed.

"I have said it & akuna shida in repeating...if H.E UHURU/Hon Ruto want a prosperous Kenya...forget about the BIG 4...it will lead Kenya nowhere...spend that money on LAW & ORDER...build prisons, jail thieves, make Kenyans fear the Law & the consequences of breaking it @UKenyatta," tweeted Ahmednasir.

I agree with Ahmednasir on this. The Big 4 Agenda by the Jubilee government are surely a good thing for the country. Manufacturing, universal healthcare, affordable housing and food security is what the country needs.

However, when these developmental platforms become corruption dens, then it is only logical that the government shifts from them and focus on other areas where the corrupt will not find a means of embezzling funds.

The EACC should also tighten its grip on fighting corruption. Since billions were lost in the National Youth Service (NYS), no single person has been jailed for corruption even after one of those implicated admitting to carrying the stolen money in 'sacks'.
