As President Uhuru Kenyatta succession race continues to gain momentum, the question on whether the head of state will back his deputy for the top seat, has persisted.
Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, however believes that DP Ruto has the President's backing in the 2022 general election.
According to the National Assembly Majority leader, the Jubilee succession plan will go on as it was planned when President Kenyatta and the DP come together in the run up to the 2013 election.
"I have not heard the President renounce the many pledges he made in public to support the DP, and so I am sure and confident that he will fulfill that promise when the time comes," Duale told Sunday Nation.
Duale was also quick to hit out at a section of politicians within the ruling party for allegedly trying to destabilize Jubilee party ahead of the 2022 poll.
So far, two political camps have emerged within Jubilee Party: Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga.
Kieleweke is pro- Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga especially after their 2018 handshake. On the other hand, Tanga Tanga is backing Dr. Ruto in his quest to clinch the top seat in the next poll.
