City lawyer Donald Kipkorir has mocked Deputy President William Ruto's allies who organised a rally in Mumias on Saturday, terming them cowards for running away from teargas.
In a tweet on Saturday, Kipkorir said leaders who organised the rally should refund the money they were given, without stating who gave the money, or providing proof that it was indeed given.
What happened to the organizers of Mumias rally? The whole week, they couldn’t tire telling us it will happen ... They can’t stand tear gas ... What a cowardly bunch of men! Hope they refund the money they were given. We knew their noise was to increase their per diem," he tweeted.
Police on Saturday dispersed leaders and their supporters who had gathered at Nabongo Sports ground for a meting that coincided with the BBI forum in Bukhungu.
Western Region Deputy police commander Leonard Omolo had warned that a parallel meeting in Mumias won't be condoned.
"We can't have two meetings, one in Kakamega and another one in Mumias. We have deployed our officers to provide security at Bukhungu stadium,"Omolo said.
