Political analyst Jerotich Seii has said that people who will try to question the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) push going forward are likely to face the wrath of the government.
This, she says, was openly demonstrated in Mumias on Saturday, when politicians who tried to hold a parallel rally to the BBI forum in Bukhungu Stadium were teargassed by police.
She opines that the government is keen on making the constitutional amendment push a success, that Kenyans should prepare seeing those opposing it being 'shoved' away.
"The truth is that opposition to BBI cannot be tolerated on any level," she said on KTN News' Inside Politics on Sunday.
She based the observation on her thoughts that Jubilee government is banking on the initiative to influence the 2022 succession, where Uhuru is expected to retire.
Seii is of the opinion that the BBI is the setup being used by the government to decide what will happen after Uhuru's exit.
"BBI is the Trojan Horse to ensure succession for the final 10 years of the Kenyatta rule," she added.
Seii added that Kenyans will also have little say on the issue, noting that the ongoing popularisation exercise is more of a declaration that the changes are inevitable.
She stated that the leaders who have been attending the BBI forums have only been declaring that the changes cannot be avoided and not disseminating information about it.
