Renowned activist and socio-political commentator Jerotich Sei has weighed in on the fast-paced drama around Miguna Miguna's apparently botched return.
Speaking on Wednesday during a wide-ranging panel interview on K24 Television, the activist called for the resignation of the Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and his Foreign Affairs counterpart Monica Juma over an alleged red alert that has made it difficult for Miguna to travel back to Kenya.
"And in fact Dr Monica Juma, Dr Fred Matiang'i should be considering their resignation right now, because they have brought embarrassment, humiliation and disrepute, due to this debacle of Miguna Miguna, how do you leave a red, if it was indeed an old red alert. Who was sleeping on the job?, " Jerotich Sei said.(10:59-11;17)
Miguna Miguna was set to touch down in Kenya but did not do so because a red alert had been allegedly issued by the Kenyan government.
The controversial lawyer has held that President Uhuru Kenyatta issued the red alert even though his claim cannot be independently verified.
He is currently stuck at a German airport in the hope that he will eventually be allowed to board a plane back to the country.
